The President and Chairman of Board of Directors of AfrIcan Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Professor Benedict Okey Oramah, is the Distinguished Guest Lecturer at the 8th Annual Goddy Jidenma Lecture, holding in Lagos Thursday, February 22nd.2024.
The lecturer, globally reputed for development economics expertise, will be on a familiar ground when he will be talking to his audience on THE TRADE ROUTE IN POVERTY REDUCTION IN AFFRICA IN A DE-GLOBALIZING WORLD, in an event that will be chaired by Mr Fola Adeola, a reputable Banker and co-founder of Guaranty Trust Bank in the early 1990s.
The event which will see Professor Oramah revisiting his known and emerging theories on African economic integration will be attended by the cream of Nigeria’s economic management space academia and the business community, while offering many the opportunity of a network with African foremost trade innovator.
According to Secretary to Goddy Jidenma Foundation, Dr Ije Jidenma, the event is in honour of the prominent architect and philanthropist as well as using the avenue to create an opportunity to expand current economic engagements in an effort to make the country a better place to live.
Proceeds from this gathering are used in advancing Goddy Jidenma’s humanitarian beliefs which were part of his hallmark when he was alive.
However, the lecturer has been an economic development revelation who has taken Afreximbank to an unexpected level within the first phase of his tenure and has put in place several new ideas that have made the bank to be everything for the African continent.
There are strong indications that the event will worth its billing considering the acceptance the lecture has gained since the last seven editions. The event starts by 11 am
